But if you're trying to get at one file from a video, here's what I do for avi files. I presume it will work for .mp4 files though I haven't tried it: ffmpeg -i yourvideo.avi frame%06d.png Place your video in a folder unto itself and run the command above from the command line, changing the name of the video, of course.
