Used Motion most of last year to a golbong IP Camera, worked OK. Now
while trying to
add a second camera? I get the above message ."method DESCRIBE failed:
401 Unauthorized "
Here is the kind of URL I am using:
Lowres works ok,
netcam_url
rtsp://192.168.188.23:554/&user=admin&password=WUEcawyL&channel=1&stream=1.sdp?
Hires simple,
netcam_url
rtsp://192.168.188.23:554/&user=admin&password=WUEcawyL&channel=1&stream=0.sdp?
I traced the URL used and it generally works ok.
As the network has no internet or GSM connections it does not need to be
very secure, admin and no
password would be ideal.

You might try the format of:
rtsp://[username]:[password]@[IP or server name]:[port][path]
