motion 4.6.0+git20231111-7b85a24 "Fedora 39"

Hi:
I was hoping somebody could explain this. I have some Lorex E841CA-E bullet
ip cameras. I have the *computer time and the camera time* displayed on the
videos, also visible when I use motion to stream_localhost at 1fps. The
camera uses ntp to set the time with the computer so they are synced.

If I set the frame rate on the camera and motion.conf at 25fps the camera
time keeps falling behind the computer time and the recorded videos jump
sometimes.
If I set the framerate on the camera at 25fps and the motion.conf at 30fps
the times sink almost perfectly and mediainfo says the videos are 28fps.
This seems to work well, but why?

That's very interesting, as I have been seeing what sounds like the same
issue with some IP bullet style cameras, but I'm using snapshot mode (1
picture per second).? If I'm watching the motion live output with the
browser, things in the video will continually slow way down, then after
about 30 to 45 seconds, jump back to live, then repeat.? I thought it
was something to do with snapshot mode though.
