After a little research I have discovered that NM has an 'internet
sharing' setting
that behaves more or less like tethering with a mobile phone, allowing
you to share
a single internet connection with other LAN hosts. This function does
turn on ip forwarding but also invokes other functions like NAT and
DNSMASQ.
Strangely, this setting is one of the options in the address-setting
dialogue within
nm-connection-editor so it appears as an alternative to e.g. DHCP !? ?.
Enabling this setting would it seems de-isolate the camera in the above
scenario.
Regards.
