Sounds like the .so library was build for x64 or for a wrong os (recheck path
and permissions)?

Thank you all for your replies.? There were a couple of typos, I have
fixed those, but I still have a problem.? When I start motion I see this -

(.venv) pi@pi-5:~ $ libcamerify motion
ERROR: ld.so: object
'/usr/lib/aarch64-linux-gnu/libcamera/v4l2-compat.so' from LD_PRELOAD
cannot be preloaded (cannot open shared object file): ignored.
[0:motion] [NTC] [ALL] conf_load: Processing thread 0 - config file
/etc/motion/motion.conf
[0:motion] [NTC] [ALL] config_camera: Processing camera config file
/etc/motion/camera1.conf
[0:motion] [NTC] [ALL] motion_startup: Logging to file
(/home/pi/motion/motion.log)

I have researched the error and it is the same as reported in github
Discussions "Motion + Bookworm 64 + Raspberry Pi5 #1753" but there are
no answers.? The file v4l2-compat.so does not exist, do I need to
download it from somewhere?? If so where?

Any ideas?

Mick
