Hello, bird people: At 11:40 a.m. I noted a single pine siskin gobbling thistle and sunflower chips from a thistle feeder while ignoring the aggressive goldfinches. This is the first siskin for our backyard this year, and for many years.
At the other thistle feeder, a red-bellied woodpecker wobbled to hold on as she lapped up seeds. These feeders are located in the northwest corner of St. Paul, in Ramsey County. Val Cunningham St. Paul, Minn.
