Adult male Bufflehead observed on McMahon Lake in Scott County. I saw the bird on the eastern side of the lake in marsh habitat surrounded by suitable cavity trees. Considering the late time in the waterfowl migration, perhaps a breeder, quite a bit south of typical breeding range
