Beautiful day with great birding. We found all the target birds. Shorebird flocks were seen at Schaar's Bluff on the river & flying over 180th St. marsh Total species: 83. Notable finds: Blackpoll Warbler (male) - Great looks Western Kingbird - Empire substation (210th St) Orchard Oriole - 4 found Logerhead Shrike - 180th near Fisher Least Bittern - calling at 180th Street marsh Ruddy Duck (fm) - 140th St. marsh Red-shouldered Hawk - soaring Semi-palmated Plover Dunlin Virginia Rail & Sora Willow Flycatcher Black-billed Cuckoo calling Belted Kingfisher - pair Steve Weston on Quigley Lake in Eagan [email protected]
