Birders, My daughter and I watched a Loggerhead Shrike as it hunted for prey along the power wires on the street that runs along the north side of Bear Cave Park north of Stewartville, MN in Olmsted County. We saw it at 7 PM on Wednesday evening and it was there for at least an hour. It moved all along the road, scanning and diving. It never came up with any prey.
Turn west off Hwy 63 just north of Stewartville and just south of the bowling alley (I think it's 10th St NW, aka County 35). Go about 1 mile until you get to the entrance of Bear Cave Park. Then scan the wires to the north of the soccer fields along the same road. Good Luck Paul Pedersen Stewartville, MN
