This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday August 28th. Two EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES were seen in Thief River Falls, Pennington County, on August 17th. They were in the area of 3rd Street and Kinney Avenue. Both were calling. This area is close to the railroad tracks near the arena. And two Eurasian Collared-Doves are visiting a feeder along Division Street in Farmington, Dakota County. A possible JAEGER is being reported from the Malmo area of Mille Lacs Lake in Aitkin County. It's apparently been there for a couple of weeks, but its identity remains in doubt. A NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was seen on the 3100 block of east First Street in Duluth on Tuesday, August 26th. Four BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS and eight AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS were found on a sod farm in Chisago County on the 24th. Go north from North Branch on highway 30 about a mile to 400th Street, then east about two and a half miles to the sod fields. Another twelve American Golden-Plovers were in Anoka County on the same day. From Lexington Avenue go east about a mile on county road 14 to the large sod farms. On the 28th, four American Golden-Plovers were at the Castle Rock sod farms in Dakota County. From Farmington, drive a quarter of a mile south of 280th Street on state highway 3 and check the west side of the road. COMMON NIGHTHAWKS have been reported migrating in good numbers from several counties. Migrant warblers reported recently include MAGNOLIA WARBLER, BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER, BAY-BREASTED WARBLER, TENNESSEE WARBLER, NASHVILLE WARBLER, WILSON'S WARBLER, CANADA WARBLER, MOURNING WARBLER, NORTHERN PARULA, and NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH.
