While checking for the possible Smew at Lake Phalen, I was treated to two adult Bald Eagles roosting in a large tree just off East Shore Road, a bit north of Adele St. I was surprised to find open water on the lake (very small circle.) Besides the Mallards and Canada Geese, I too saw one male Bufflehead and one American Coot.
