A new exhibit opens telling the story of Oheyawahi/ Pilot Knob: a hill much visited
Pilot Knob, known to the Dakota as Oheyawahi, is a beautiful, historic, sacred, and culturally important hill southeast of the Mendota Bridge in Mendota Heights. A new exhibit, opening at the Dakota County Historical Society beginning April 15, chronicles the rich heritage of this historic place in photographs, paintings, drawings, and maps. The exhibit was prepared and sponsored by the Pilot Knob Preservation Association and curated by Bruce White. Join in celebrating the exhibit opening! Thursday, April 15, 6-8 PM Preview & Reception Program at 6:30 PM including dedication, drum group, readings Saturday, April 17, 12-3 PM Exhibit Opening Program at 1 PM featuring drum group, readings, refreshments All events free and open to the public. Location: Dakota County Historical Society, 130 Third Avenue North, South Saint Paul, Exhibit open through Labor Day. Museum Hours: Wednesdays, 9-5, Thursdays 9-8, Fridays, 9-5, Saturdays, 10-3.
