Westskyline Hawkwatch, Duluth, MN. Hawk flights this week were steady with the majority of the migrants being=20 Red-tailed Hawks including: 835, 322, 625, 356 on 4/9,11, 12, and 14. Among=20 these Red tails were 30 dark morphs, two adult Harlan's (1light,1dark) an ad= ult=20 Krider=E2=80=99s and 2 Partial Albino's. Other notable counts this week incl= ude the=20 following: 137 Turkey Vulture on the 9th, 41 Rough-legged Hawks on the12th a= s well=20 as 57 Sharp-shinned Hawks. =20 Non-raptors sighting this includes: 670 Bohemian Waxwings on the 11th. Few=20 Sandhill Cranes, White Pelican and Common Loons are being seen most day now,= =20 including a good flight of 79 White Pelican on the 13th and 28 today. No les= s=20 then 30 Tundra Swans were seen from the lookout today in the St. Louis River= . 2=20 Woodduck seen on the 9th. There was a Northern Shrike still hanging around=20 Enger Tower up to the 9th. Tree Swallows were seen on the 13th. A Belted=20 Kingfisher was seen on the 10th.
