After many visitors it appears that the towhee has left during the night as we have not seen it this AM. The last time it was seen was last evening. The consensus is that the bird was definately a first fall bird but the jury is still out if the bird was a female or a male. While the bird generally looked like a adult female (except for the buffy streaking in the back) it appears that a first year male could possibly have the same plumage.
