It's not to late!!!
The Great River Birding Festival May 14-16, 2004 Lake Pepin MN/WI, Red Wing to Wabasha - Alma to Bay City Welcome to the 3rd Annual Great River Birding Festival! Over 18 great birding events on both sides of Lake Pepin on the Mississippi River. Walk-in registration opens at 5pm Friday before the evening reception in Wabasha at the Wabasha/Kellogg High School. Registration will open again Saturday morning at 6am. Sign up for morning walks, field trips and workshops. Afternoon seminars are on Saturday and two evening receptions with beautiful digital photography are the perfect way to end a good day in the field. Have you ever gone birding by boat or canoe? There's still room aboard our fleet of Audubon boats heading into the backwaters of the Mississippi. Like to Bike? Get more out of your annual Wheel Pass. The Cannon Valley Trail is the perfect place to start birding by bike. Treat yourself to a birding adventure into the floodplain forests and backwaters along the Chippewa River. Ride the rails through the Tiffany Bottoms and experience Spring Migration in some of the most inaccessible and productive habitat along the River. The 5 hour, motorized Railcar ride is the most popular field trip of the festival for good reason. Quality habitat means great birds. After the past two days of rain, the level of foraging activity and northward movement should ensure some of the best views of neo-tropic migrants of the season. Grab a cushion and hop aboard, there's plenty of room both Saturday and Sunday! Sound Like Fun? With so many choices your sure to find an outing that fits your style and level of interest.
