I love Christmas Bird Counts! This was the year of the Pileated Woodpecker in our neck of the woods. I've seen 6 of them at various counts during the CBC season. The oddest bird found on the Albert Lea Count, for which I am the compiler, was a pelican. It was found in a dry road ditch. It was injured, but had a punch that would have made Ali proud.
