A 1st winter Great Black-backed Gull was with 18 Herring Gulls at the east end of Black Dog Lake (Dakota Co.) late Sunday afternoon, Jan. 30. This is presumably the same individual reported sporadically here since Dec. and is apparently overwintering. I also saw it two weeks ago (16 Jan.) at Prescott, WI.
