We may not have the numbers of owls as Sax-Zim, but they are starting to show up in a few places here too. On Sunday there were 5 NORTHERN HAWK OWLS : on C.R. 18 at 1/2 mile east of hwy 169, 1 & 1/2 miles east of hwy 169 and right at the junction of C.R 18 and C.R.5. On C.R. 1, approximately 3 miles north of the diversion channel and the junction of C.R.1 and township 379. 3 GREAT GRAY OWLS : 2 on C.R. 18 at 1 & 3/10 miles east of hwy 169 and on the snowmobile trail south of Pietz's Road, The third one was about 8/10 mile north of the junction of C.R. 1 and township 379. Other birds seen were 8 SHARP-TAILED GROUSE at the junction of C.R. 18 and C.R.5 on the brush to the north, 16 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, a NORTHERN HARRIER and lots of winter finches. Warren Nelson
