Chet Meyers writes: I birded Black Dog from the Park (i.e. up the railroad tracks) and saw lots of ring-billed gulls and only a few herring gulls. Also drove Black Dog road and found one early northern shrike and one late broad-winged hawk. A few white pelicans and common mergansers on the main lake... not much else. P.S. If anyone birds the R.R. section, I left my Pentax binocular case lying at the side of the R.R. in the area you would natural set up to scan for gulls. Much appreciate retrieve if anyone sees it.
