Dec. 27; 1:00pm, Prescot, WI.- A male Barrow's Goldeneye was present among about 200 Common Goleneye. The bird was on the Minnesota side of the river close to the ice edge. It was visible from the riverfront marina. Also, a male Long-tailed Duck was seen from Freedom Park in Prescot. It was with several 100 COGOs and was on the Wisconsin side of the river working the edge of the ice. Numerous Cackling Geese were present with the 100s of Canada Geese near the marina. At least one adult Thayer's Gull was present as well. For those who care about such things, the BAGO is #250 for Dakota County for the year.
