Hi all Today there was a Boreal Owl sleeping along Hwy 210 west of McGregor. The owl was 1 mile west of the stop sign in McGregor just past CR 62. I had asked my neighbor, Mike, owner of McGregor Printing to let me know if he saw any little owls, he had seen the one Kim did north of Tamarack, and today he called to say " I saw one of those little owls". I drove over and sure enough a Boreal Owl was sleeping in a Jack Pine right along the highway.
By the way, there are still quite a few Great Gray Owls between Tamarack and McGregor. On Tuesday afternoon I found 59 on a loop from my house to McGregor and back. There are 3 or 4 Northern Hawk Owls in the area also. Also today east of McGregor I saw a Northern Harrier. Still Pine and Evening Grosbeaks north of Tamarack. Have fun Cindy Butler Risen Tamarack, Eastern Aitkin County
