This afternoon Leslie Marcus and I enjoyed hearing a White-throated Sparrow sing robustly at Lake Byllesby in Dakota County. The Lake was mostly frozen yet with narrow trenches of open water, and minimal shoreline open a few feet. It was a blast of Spring to see 6 Killdeer, and hear the familiar "k'dee," erupt when they chased each other back and forth.
