In my backyard yesterday, I had a flock of rusty blackbirds and the first ruby-crowned kinglets of the year. Also had red-breasted mergansers on the lake in my backyard.
On nearby Steele Lake on 4-3 there were red-necked grebes, greater scaup, 2 common loons, canvasback, and a whole assortment of other waterfowl. Also, at a nearby pond, I heard a wood frog calling, and I saw the first red admiral butterfly of the spring in my backyard.
