A 1st Year Iceland Gull was seen tonight from the observatory platform on the south side of Black Dog Road from 4 to 5 pm. The Iceland gull was with a group of approximately 20 Herring Gulls on a ice sheet southeast of the observatory platform. The ice sheet was approximately 160 meters away, with open water behind. The birds were still there when I left with a few more gulls arriving at dusk.
