After Aaron Lang and I discovered this weekend that birding in Iowa is not entirely painful (Thayer's and Glaucous Gulls, Eurasian Tree Sparrow, Long-Eared Owl, Long-tailed Duck), we had a little time to kill before sunset, and decided to get lost in Fillmore and Mower counties.
The Snowy Owl was found 5 miles west and 1 mile south of Ostrander, along 170th St, just east of 750th ave. It was on the south side of the road, then flushed about a mile west to the north side of the road. Dedrick Benz Winona, MN
