Upland Sandpipers are regular summer residents in the Kasota Prairie area of southwestern Le Sueur County and adjacent Blue Earth County. This area has also had summer records of Henslow's Sparrow and Loggerhead Shrike (documented nesting). Other great regulars to that area include Grasshopper Sparrow, Orchard Oriole, Bobolink, both meadowlarks (though dominance changes yearly), and Red-headed Woodpecker. Prothonotary Warblers nest in the adjacent river bottoms as well.
