This previously mentioned bird was present on County Road 1, just south of Cty 9, on a telephone pole at 5:34 PM today.
Also, not to far away, were two Short-eared Owls in Wabasha County. From Bellchester in southeastern Goodhue County go east on Cty Rd 16 about 4 miles. Just past 300th Avenue (a Goodhue Cty sign) there is a hay field on the south side of the road. At 6:15 there were two short-eareds working over the field and down in the gully area. The best visibility was from 375th Ave (a Wabasha cty sign) on a small rise in the road about 100 yards south of Cty Rd 16. 375th Ave is about a half mile east of 300th Ave. (If that makes any sense at all.)
