Saturday afternoon (2/25) the Mississippi River ice north of the Ford Bridge (between Minneapolis and St. Paul) had broken up and exposed open water. There were 5 bald eagles on the ice, one adult and four immatures, with lots of crows around them. When I returned, the adult and two immatures were still there. The immatures flew then landed in a tree on the top of west bank at the edge of the park at the entrance to the lock access road.
