This evening I found a Virginia Rail calling in a cattail marsh on the west side of Gilfillin Lake in northeast Blue Earth County. Also, at dusk there were around a dozen American Woodcocks displaying near the campground entrance in Minneopa State Park. Last night I had one at Kasota Prairie in Le Sueur County as well.
