I asked the question today of why ducks were listed first, when all my life I had loons, grebes, and cormorants heading up my checklists. Tony states the case in detail here below, but the answer is "things changed". Good Birding. =20 Mark Alt MOU President =20 ________________________________ From: Anthony Hertzel [mailto:[email protected]]=20 Sent: Monday, April 17, 2006 12:36 PM To: Alt, Mark Subject: checklist =20 The MOU Records Committee (and by extension the MOU) has always followed the avian taxonomic sequence as determined by the American Ornithologists' Union (AOU).
