Robins will eat seeds cracked and out of the shell like sunflower  
chips and peanut hearts.  You can also get bird seed mixes that have  
dried fruit and even dried mealworms to appeal to robins.  When I  
used to work at the Wayzata wild bird store we had a bait shop in the  
same strip mall.  They would toss out dead minnows behind the mall  
and we had a small flock of robins hanging out there all winter.  I  
remember watching a robin trying to drag off a fish that was about a  
third of the size it was.
