Nathan & I did a swing past Mille Lacs Lake (west side), through Aitkin CR 18, ending (from a birding perspective) with Rice Lake NWR - overall, a bit quiet.
Loons were spotty along the lake, we missed the Boreal Chickadees on 18 that had been present the week before, and the Say's Phoebe did not show up for lunch at Rice Lake. However, we did enjoy 23 Snow Buntings, 3 Gray Jays and our first fall N. Shrike on Aitkin 18. Good birding to all! Nathan & Al Schirmacher Princeton, MN Mille Lacs & Sherburne Counties
