I was in somewhat of a hurry to get home from La Crosse this afternoon, when a couple of Forster's Terns and shorebirds were zipping around.
>From Winona: Take Hwy 61 south out of town about a mile, and you will see a Harley Davidon dealership on your right. Across the road on your left is Mud Lake. True to it's name there are some mudflats in back, and the pale, sandy Piping Plover should readily distinguish itself from the 5 or 6 Semipalmated Plovers it is associating with.
