Dale Yerger and I came across a Northern Mockingbird while driving to Snowshoe
lake in eastern Cass County yesterday
(5/29). The bird was at the junction of Washburn Lake rd (CR 48) and CR 155,
approximately 5 miles west of state hwy 6.

After fishing we hopped into Aitkin county and picked up a vocal Yellow Rail,
among many LeConte's Sparrows, on the
east side of CR 5 north of Palisade.

Point counts started this morning at Deep Portage. Northern Waterthrush was
present, and perhaps it will stick around.
Had a couple of late migrant Tennessee Warblers, and a few Alder Flycatchers.
