This morning I had a "bald" female cardinal at my feeder (Lauderdale, Ramsey Co.), no feathers on her head. A male was with her. Later I saw that he had small patches of feathers missing on his chest and didn't seem to have much of a crest. Is this normal molting? Or possibly a mite infestation? Do I need to bleach the feeder? Thanks for your ideas, Clay Christensen --NextPart_Webmail_9m3u9jl4l_4863_1124469579_0 Content-Type: text/html Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit <html><body> <DIV>This morning I had a "bald" female cardinal at my feeder (Lauderdale, Ramsey Co.), no feathers on her head.
