male kestrel on the lightpost, just west of the Hwy 5 bridge crossing the river, at Ft. Snelling, about 3:15 today--caught my eye because I was looking for one of the red-tails that often hang out near there
Crosby Park: no sign of the barred owls hoped for, but a few hardy robins were present, north side of the big lake, where a tiny beaver pond at the shoreline is filled with warm open (spring, or run-off?) water--otherwise, just the usual winter suspects, and a couple of other insane outdoor exercise fans
