Today (Monday, Oct. 23rd) at 12:30 pm Jane Wicklund, Barb Wojahn, and Cheri Steinmueller discovered two Surf Scoters near the west shore of Bald Eagle Lake in Ramsey County. Jane had tentatively ID'd one bird at the same spot yesterday at 2:30 pm. Returned today at 10:30 am - not in view, but fishing boat in area. Returned again at 12:30 pm and had good looks at possible adult female and juvenile. They swam south as a fishing boat trolled into the area.
