Please be advised that this weekend is "NOT" a good time to try to find the Northern Hawk Owl in the Beltrami Island State Forest. There is a massive ground search planned to search for a hunter lost within the forest all week. The area will be teeming with searchers who won't appreciate folks not involved in the search, not to mention unneeded vehicles on the roads. Since these owls are known to hang around, it may still be there at a later date. Jeanie Joppru Pennington County
