Had a possible Thayer's Gull (or hybrid) at Princeton Sewage Ponds along Sherburne CR2 moments ago.
Characteristics: * Classic dark eye (seen several times under good light) * Light upper chest, darker belly * Significantly taller than Ring-billed around it * Pink legs * However - belly seemed darker than Sibley's second winter gull (but nowhere near as dark or extensive as second winter Herring) - and dark spot on bill was clearly defined, with bit of yellow tip remaining (more like third winter). Do Thayer's and Herring's hybridize? If you happen to stop, it is viewable from the parking lot - but take your time, there are ~350 RB Gulls present.
