This early afternoon Dick Rengstorf and I observed a female Surf Scoter in the southeast corner of White Bear Lake. This may be the same bird reported 3 weeks ago, although intervening visits there never produced it. Observation was made from the small beach at the end of Ash St. in Mahtomedi.
