Yesterday afternoon from 4:00-4:30 I observed a Least Bittern in the north east pond, the section closest to the road. I was amazed to see it out in the open, away from the reeds, walking around with those big ol' feet. They're such furtive things, I'd never had such a good, long look before! There were a few shorebirds at 180th and 140th - nothing that hasn't been reported before.
