I'd be interested to hear more of of observations of mink climbing trees - how high can they climb for example? This year in the Winnipeg area, there was very high water on the Red and other rivers, which in some cases came to within a few feet on Wood Duck boxes used by screech owls. Several screech owl pairs abanadoned territories in which they had raised several successful consecutive broods and there may be a link between high water levels and the risk of predation...
