Several Dickcissels are being seen and heard near the entrance to Glendalough State Park, which is located just north and east of the town of Battle Lake in central Otter Tail County. The birds were actively singing just west of the entrance sign along CR 16 and in the restored prairie across the road from the entrance.
Other notables seen in the last couple of days in the park are both Black and Yellow-billed Cuckoos. note: we have been UNsuccessful in multiple tries in re-locating the Henslow's Sparrow originally spotted a couple of days ago by Carole and Clemens Brysky. Carole is leading a birdwalk at the park on Saturday morning beginning at 7:00 am.; hopefully, the sparrow will put in an appearance for that! Dan & Sandy Thimgan Otter Tail County Battle Lake, MN
