W.P.A = Waterfowl Production Area. These are federally owned and managed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). Soberg WPA is one of several WPAs in central and south centeral Minnesota managed by the Minnesota Valley NWR (= National Wildlife Refuge). W.M.A. = Wildlife Management Area. These are usually state owned and managed by the state of Minnesota.
