George Rysgaard,the first president of the MOU, died Dec. 25. He was 89. In April,1938 the MOU was formed by three existing bird clubs: The Minnesota Bird Club, based at the U of Minnesota, of which George was a member; the T.S.Roberts club of St Cloud: and the Duluth Bird Club.He served as president until 1940. George was a family physician in Northfield for many years. Services will be in Northfield on Saturday. A complete obit will be in the Star Tribune on Friday
