Hey birders! I had a chance to get out with Susan Duppstadt and Tom Dahlen this morning to check out the shorebird activity on Swan Lake in Nicollet County. Tom indicated that the shorebirding was excellent before the rains. Most of the mudflats were inundated at this point. There were still some good finds.
The following shorebirds were seen from the Nicollet Conservation Club: Hudsonian Godwit (3) Greater Yellowlegs 20+ Lesser Yellowlegs 50+ Pectoral Sandpiper 1 Solitary Sandpiper 3 Spotted Sandpiper 3 Wilson's Snipe 2 Semipalmated Plover 1 Killdeer 2 We also found a Snow Goose feeding with some Canadas in that area along with some of the typical herons and ducks. Happy Birding! Chad Heins Mankato, MN __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
