The GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE is still visiting the feeder in the town of Mountain Lake, Cottonwood County and was seen as recently as the 27th. >From state highway 60, exit onto 3rd Avenue and drive to 10th Street. Turn north on 10th street and drive to the edge of town to a cemetery and lake on the left. The feeder is in front of the pale green house, which is the second to the last building on the right side of the road. Warren Nelson reports a GREAT GRAY OWL near the junction of U.S. Highway 169 and Aitkin County Road 3 about fifteen miles north of Aitkin. A pair of CAROLINA WRENS is frequenting the Golden Valley, Hennepin County, home at 6701 Glenwood Avenue North. The best time to visit is mid-morning. Another CAROLINA WREN has been seen intermittently at the Old Cedar Avenue Bridge area in Bloomington throughout the winter. A VARIED THRUSH is still being seen near the intersection of Edgcumbe and Eleanor Streets in St. Paul. Another VARIED THRUSH is coming to the feeders of Lael Carlstrom at 211 - 4th Street Northeast in Aitkin, Aitkin County. Many birders have reported migrating GOLDEN EAGLES in the southeastern counties, up to the northern suburbs of the Twin Cities. Other migrants commonly reported recently include HORNED LARK, SNOW BUNTING, and LAPLAND LONGSPUR.
