A (probable) Eurasian Collared-Dove is being seen near the town of Battle Lake in central Otter Tail County. Note: this is a different location from where this species has been previously reported in the county (to wit, the town of Ottertail).
The spot: on Oak Leaf Lane, which runs along the southwest edge of (First) Silver Lake, just north of the town of Battle Lake. The bird's favorite haunts are between the first two houses on the west side of the road (there is a line of cedars next to the road) and, especially, in the yard of the second house. There are feeders near the house at the head of a U-shaped driveway. The property owners have been contacted. They were interested and OK with birders visiting and staring at their houses with binoculars from Oak Leaf Lane. -- Dan & Sandy Thimgan Battle Lake MN Otter Tail County
