Our resident house wren showed up Monday morning, April 23 in west Minneapolis.
However, over the winter a downy woodpecker enlarged the holes on most of our half-dozen houses to woodpecker size. I wonder if the wren will still use them. Wish I'd replaced the fronts of the houses a couple of weeks ago. Some time back I replaced a couple of those house fronts with oak. I note that last winter the downy enlarged those as well.
