The departure of the Western tanager has given way to another new visitor (FOY - First of Yard for me) to my birdie haven - a Lincoln's Sparrow has arrived today and is foraging on my seed pile outside my office window. I am amazed at how small they are compared to other sparrow - especially the White-throats that are grazing in the same spread.
